The Galen Terrace Tenant Association in partnership with the owners (Somerset Development Company and NHT/Enterprise) oversees the Galen Terrace Community Center’s community development programs through a Board consisting of three residents and two representatives of the ownership. A Tenant Services Fund and on-going contribution from property cash flow dedicated to the effort assures program continuity.

Galen runs an afterschool program for 30 registered youth between the ages of 5 and 13. The program provides academic enrichment and encourages greater parent participation. In addition, a workplace literacy program is run in collaboration with the YWCA and the JP Morgan Chase Foundation to support job readiness training for adults 18 years and older.

We seek to educate and empower the community through the following programs:
