Somerset was founded in 2000 by Jim Campbell and Nancy Hooff. Mr. Campbell has over 29 years of experience in real estate development and finance, and Ms. Hooff has over 25 years of urban, community, and international development experience. Somerset is a 51% woman-owned business and is certified in Washington, D.C. as an LSDBE (Local Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprise). Somerset Development Company has redeveloped and preserved the affordability of five properties in Washington, D.C., four in the Columbia Heights neighborhood and one in Southeast, which present about 570 affordable units. In Baltimore, Somerset built a new 32 urban townhome community just blocks from Penn Station and is currently renovating the historic Professional Arts Builsing converting it to 96 rental apartments. |
